Every Friday and Saturday from beginning of July to end of September

The offer for connoisseurs. We will bring you to the Niederhorn in the evenings, from beginning of July until end of September. A hearty atmosphere with the Älpler buffet at the Berghaus Niederhorn. 

Every second Friday in July, August and September, Markus Metzger, a herbalist from Beatenberg, will take you on a free tour of swiss alpine herbs and plants on the Niederhorn.

The offer for connoisseurs

Experience a summer’s night on the Niederhorn every Friday and Saturday from beginning of July until end of September. The Berghaus Niederhorn will hold the popular Älpler buffet for you. The mountain railways will bring you back to your start point either Beatenberg or Beatenbucht.

  • Älpler maccaroni and apple sauce
  • Pork roast cooked in hay
  • Veal sausage
  • Beef meat roll
  • Cervelat (sausage) wrapped in bacon
  • Rosti plain or with baked cheese on top
  • Seasonal vegetables and salad buffet with 6 different salads

Evening journey incl. transport (return) and Älpler buffet (excl. drinks) at Berghaus Niederhorn.

The Niederhorn-family-discount (1st child pays, additional children go free if accompanied by one parent) and Junior and Children`s co-travelcard are valid. Food and drinks can be purchased at the Berghaus directly. No further reductions.
All prices are in CHF, incl. 7.7 % VAT. Prices are subject to change.

Family-discount

Parents and one child pay for a ticket and every additional child of the family is free. This reduction is also valid for the Trotti-bike rental and the wild animal observation.

With the Junior or Grandchild travelcard (available for CHF 30.00) children from 6 to 16 years travel one year for free if accompanied by a parent or grandparent holding a valid ticket.

Please purchase the food and drinks directly at the Berghaus.

Timetable

This offer is valid from 4.00 pm onwards. First ascent from Beatenbucht departs at 4.04 pm and from Beatenberg from 4.00 pm.

Arrival / departure

Travel to Beatenbucht

  • By bus: STI-bus no. 21, line Thun–Interlaken Ost, get off at «Beatenbucht».
  • By car: from Thun direction Thun–Gunten–Interlaken. You can park your car for a fee at the car park at Beatenbucht.
  • By boat: from Thun or other boat stations along Lake Thun until station «Beatenbucht», carry on by funicular and cable car to the Niederhorn.

Travel to Beatenberg

  • By bus: PostAuto (bus) no. 101, line Interlaken West–Beatenberg, get off at «Beatenberg, station».
  • By car: from Interlaken direction Beatenberg station. You can park your car for a fee in the car park at the Niederhornbahn or in the car park Lood.

Departure from Beatenberg by PostAuto (bus) direction Interlaken West or by funicular to Beatenbucht and by STI-bus until Thun.

Guided herb and plant tours with Markus Metzger, herbalist

On this guided tour Markus Metzger, a herbalist from Beatenberg, explains the different swiss alpine herbs and plants growing on the Niederhorn and their use in homeopathic medicine as well as in the kitchen.

No reservation is necessary. Please meet at the entrance of the Berghaus Niederhorn on time, the tour is  from 6.00 pm. until 7.30 pm..

The costs for the tour is CHF 10.00. Included a CHF 5.00 voucher for your consumption in the Berghaus Niederhorn.
