Versatile Niederhorn for families

Trotti-biking, hiking, barbecue outside, alpine-orienteering, wild animal observation

Whether for the young or old – the Niederhorn offers a lot for families. Enjoy the beautiful panorama at 1950 m above sea level and the view on to the world famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Treat yourself at the Berghaus Niederhorn whilst your children explore the playground.

Our recommendation
Hike at a leisurely pace from Niederhorn to middle station Vorsass. This hike takes approximately one hour. There are several barbecue and picnic areas to have a rest on the way. You can follow one of the 3 free alpine-orienteering trails which follow the hiking trail.

Grab a Trotti-bike at the middle station Vorsass and race down to Beatenberg station. Or you can stroll along the leisurely route through Beatenberg, Europe’s longest village. The Niederhorn offers variety for everyone.

Every Thursday from June to September you can take part in a guided wild animal observation tour.

The Niederhorn offers variety for everyone!

Parents and one child pay for a ticket and every additional child of the family is free. This reduction is also valid for the Trotti-bike rental and the wild animal observation.

With the Junior or Grandchild travelcard (available for CHF 30.00) children from 6 to 16 years travel one year for free if accompanied by a parent or grandparent holding a valid ticket.

Prices (CHF)

The alpine-orienteering hikes are free of charge. Only the transport has to be purchased. The maps for the orienteering are at the old mountain station on the Niederhorn.
