Put on your fondue backpack well prepared by us, set off and enjoy – it’s never been so easy! Unpack your backpack, make and enjoy a delicious Swiss cheese fondue in the midst of breathtaking natural scenery. What more could you want?
Have we piqued your interest? If so, please make a reservation in advance for the backpack that you can enjoy the fondue experience.

Your experience starts at the railway ticket office in Beatenberg. There you can collect the fondue backpack lovingly packed by us and the Bärgrestaurant Vorsass. Now you decide which hotspot on the Niederhorn is the most beautiful for you, where you will prepare and enjoy your fondue surrounded by idyllic nature! You can book your fondue backpack experience daily throughout the winter season.
Tip: If you are travelling from Beatenbucht, you can buy your tickets there. The rucksack will be handed to you in Beatenberg.
The fondue backpack contains the following items:
- Regional fondue mix
- Fondue bread
- Picnic blanket
- Spices
- Rechaud with windbreak and gas burner
- Caquelon
- Fondue crockery and forks
- Lighter
Please note that the offer does not include drinks. These can be purchased from the Bärgrestaurant Vorsass..
Return
We ask you to return the rucksack to the Bärgrestaurant Vorsass or the railway station in Beatenberg by 5.30 pm at the latest. If we notice that an item is missing when you return it, we would like to inform you that this will be charged for.
