An exciting adventure on the Niederhorn awaits you on Rocky Day! ‘Rocky’, our cheeky ibex, welcomes all children at the Niederhorn mountain station and hands out the Alpine orienteering maps for ‘Happy's’ trail.

As a family, you then make your way towards the Vorsass middle station on the trail of ‘Happy's’ Alpine orienteering path. There are some ‘Rocky’ cuddly toys hidden along the way and in the forest, which you all have to find. The new children's Swarovski binoculars will help you to find the animals as quickly as possible.

Timetable:

13.00 to 14.00

Welcome by ‘Rocky’ at the Niederhorn mountain station, handing out the Swarovski binoculars and the Alpine Orienteering Flyer with all the necessary information.

Followed by your own completion of the ‘Happy’ Alpine orienteering trail - in search of little ‘Rockys’ hidden in the forest.

14.15 to 15.15 hrs

Arrival at the Bärgrestaurant Vorsass and welcome by ‘Rocky’. Return of the Swarovski binoculars and participation in the competition.

After the Alpine Orienteering walk, older kids aged 8 and over can finish off with a scooter-bike descent from Vorsass to Beatenberg.

Tip: Would you like to take a souvenir of this day with you? You can buy a ‘Rocky’ cuddly toy at the Niederhornbahn ticket counters.

All children up to the age of 16 travel free of charge on the Niederhornbahn on Rocky Day!

Rocky Day only takes place in good weather. The decision to hold the event will be made by Thursday evening, 11 june 2026.
